This is a simple date idea: go to your local liquor store or winery & play a game to pick out which liquor you’ll try out for the night!

Something about making things from scratch is super romantic. Chauncey and I made our own candles at Paddywax in Virginia and we loved them! Chauncey wasn’t a fan of his candle’s scent so they actually sent us over a new candle which was so sweet of them. This was a great date idea that we’d love to do again.

Learning to cook with the love of your life is a different type of romance. We took a sushi-making class together and now know how to roll some up at home! The crab meat used in the class was some of the best I’ve ever tasted!

Selfie WRLD is a selfie museum franchise but this location is black-owned and we LOVE it. It’s been our favorite selfie museum so far and the themes change every few months. We got some amazing photo opportunities here and can’t wait to go back this year!

Chauncey & had the wonderful opportunity of booking a couples paint session for Valentine’s Day. Their V-Day special included wine, cocktails, and amazing finger food. My mouth is just watering thinking about the spinach dip they provided. The wine was amazing & we had a step by step painting experience that lasted 2 hours! The instructor was so informative and helpful the entire time – we can’t wait to go back and do more – or paint at home since they gave us a to go set of supplies!

A drive-thru petting zoo sounds like a crazy idea, but it actually is an adorable date idea at Roer’s Zoofari. They allow you to drive through the zoo twice then you can park and walk around to see the rest of the animals. The animals are kept in quite small enclosures so you do start to feel bad after a while, but this is a great idea for kids as well.

We took a quick trip to Richmond, Virginia & decided to stop by the botanical garden since it’s been recommended to us a few times. It was much bigger than we ever expected & had some amazing Instagram worthy photo opportunities.

We’re not the biggest fans of beer, but I assumed they served wine too. They have amazing views & their food truck serves good eats but is quite overpriced. We would only suggest this spot if you’re already in the area.

King’s Dominion is a very popular amusement park and the best one in the area! It puts Six Flags Maryland to shame.

Skydiving is something that I feel everyone HAS to experience on their own. I’ve been 4 times and it’s a feeling that you can’t really explain to anyone. The “DC” location is actually in VA but it’s the closest one to the DMV area.

Go Ape is a treetop jungle gym for every age! They have different courses for specific height and weight levels to ensure everyone’s safety. After trekking through the obstacles, you can finish off each course with a zipline. We booked the Treetop Adventure which took us almost 3 hours to complete! And don’t be fooled, this is more than just fun – it’s a true workout so be prepared to feel the burn.

If you want an arcade, cocktails, laser tag, go-carting, and rock climbing in one spot then come to Funland! They have 2 locations but we visited the Fairfax one and were not disappointed! We’re not sure how great the laser tag was since it was closed down when we went, but I’m sure you’ll have as great of a time as we did. The drinks and food take WAY too long, but that was our only negative.
