Things To Do: Washington DC

Chauncey and I have never been good at escape rooms and we still aren’t. This room was even harder because we were drunk. We went here directly after Hook Hall but Chauncey had to stay in the car since he was a little too drunk to figure anything out. The rest of us had a fantastic time and we were | | close to finishing but ran out of time!

We went to Hook Hall 2 weekends in a row to try to experience their Viking season & their Cherry Blossom season. You can either dine at a table or rent a cabana for you and your friends. We booked the cabana both times and found the food to be good but basic. The drinks were served in plastic cups which constantly melted due to the firepit in the center of the cabana. The drinks were strong as hell so at least that’s a positive.

I’m just waiting for the day that another 4DX theater opens up because the Regal Gallery Place is NOT it. We had an absolutely terrible first experience there. It was so bad that they had to restart the movie after 30min of it playing since so many people in the theater had complained. Escape the Game is an escape room lounge that also serves liquor & has other board games for entertainment. While waiting for your room to be ready, you can play a plethora of other games in the lounge area! All of the rooms are thoroughly decorated & have multiple levels. We truly feel like this was the best escape room we’ve ever been to. You can tell that they put a lot of time, money, and effort into making these rooms as amazing as they are!

This is a seasonal activity since the Magic Festival is only once time a year. Don’t let that stop you from finding another magic show throughout the year! You can never go wrong with a little magic.

Dinner & a show? No, but drinks and a show are what Fever’s Cocktail experiences can offer. They typically serve small finger foods like cookies or chips but make sure to eat beforehand. They have so many neat and clever shows that they offer year-round so check out their website to see which one you can enjoy next!

Chauncey loves his cars so of course, I had to take him to the annual auto show! This was our first time experiencing it & I hate to say that I think it’ll be our last. The show was quite boring & didn’t have too many interesting cars. I constantly told myself – this just feels like a car dealership.

The ‘exotic’ cars were just famous Tik Tokers vehicles that I could see if I opened the app & typed in “#carsoftiktok”. This was a unique and cheap date idea so we were glad to experience it, but would prefer a more ‘advanced’ auto show.

Have you ever tried number painting? You can sip on some cocktails and paint Post Malone or Cardi B with your friend or partner! Follow the patterns that Sarah has prepped for you or you can create your own design. I would personally suggest following Sarah’s color scheme because mine turned out like shit.

Swinger’s is an adult-style mini-golf course where you can drink cocktails while you putt. We made the terrible mistake of going on the 1st night it opened and honestly had one of the worst experiences. The staff was extremely undertrained and now months later, we’ve heard it never got better. We would recommend this spot to try it out, but don’t make the rookie mistake of booking the packages like we did (complete waste of money).

History is not our strong point & we’ve honestly never been that interested in it. But taking this tour completely changed our minds. Our tour guide’s name was Nick & he was truly something special. Not only did he have us laughing the ENTIRE trip, but he was informative and taught us a lot about DC’s history. They also operate in NY and can create custom tours for your group!

Five Iron is like the Top Golf for true golfers. It’s a more unique and fun experience (in my opinion). They serve much better drinks and their food is (surprisingly) pretty good! Bring some friends and reserve a section. They have multiple levels and if you’re really serious then bring your own golf clubs!
