Things To Do: New York & New Jersey

Ever wanted to be a true wizard just like your favorite Harry Potter movie? Well, The Cauldron makes that possible with their potion-making class! We were able to create 2 magical cocktails (& drink a welcome one) while doing our 2hr experience. The table that they place you at is interactive with statues and tabletop elements that you must use with your magical want to operate! The entire experience was an adventure that we weren’t prepared for. AND the drinks got us hit so we give this one a 10/10!

I haven’t been to too many speakeasy’s in my time, but there was no way I was going to skip out on the one that’s located inside an ice cream shop! Welcome to UES – the ice cream shop and elegant cocktail bar that I suggest you set reservations for. You enter through a wall with Ice Cream tubs & are welcomed to a dark ambiance with an old hip hop taste. I would suggest booking a table for 4 people minimum as the seating for 2 guests is quite cramped. Be sure to check out their menu on their website since all of the drinks are unique and pay homage to the wonderful city of NY. The drinks are pricey and start at $25 but they’re so strong it’s almost like drinking 2-3 cocktails – so it’s pretty worth it.

Ever wanted to capture the best photo of all of New York? This is where to do it! Up 100 floors high, you’ll be able to see the best views of NYC. And how about telling people that you visited the highest outdoor skydeck in the western hemisphere? If you want a picture in the triangle corner (V popular on Instagram) then prepare to wait 30min-1hr because the line is crazy long! You can still get amazing pictures without waiting, like the one I got above. This was one of our favorite touristy spots when we traveled to New York!

Years back I had a tweet go viral of me at the Cannabis Cafe – where you can smoke and eat at the same time. Little did I know that NYC would have Stoned Pizza where you can smoke while eating INFUSED food! We had a 3-course meal that started with a caesar salad & garlic knots – which were both amazing! We then moved onto some pizza & chicken wings – I didn’t care for the pizza much but the wings were delicious. And lastly, dessert was a cannoli & ice cream! The cannoli almost made me yack but the ice cream was quite flavorful. Overall, by the end of the meal – we were done for & needed to get some rest immediately lol. So far it has been one of our best dates out of any location we’ve been!

I love reality TV – especially game shows so when I found out about Game of 1000 boxes, I almost lost my sh*t! This is a place where you play numerous games with a timed buzzer against several other teams. Your teams are conducted of 4 (if you only have 2 people they pair you with 2 others). The game lasted about an hour but it felt like 20min since we were having so much fun! The game host was hilarious and made the experience memorable. Our team placed 2nd so we didn’t win the mystery prize. They change the prize every game so who knows what you’ll win??

We found this experience on the NYC side of Tik Tok & absolutely loved it! It was quite pricey but we felt like it was worth it. You row in kayaks with LED lights underneath and head towards the Hudson River. They do make you stop at the last building in New Jersey – so you’re not able to go out into the river, but we were able to capture some of the most beautiful pictures of New York. It felt like a magical experience that we’d love to do again!
